Drake - Take Care feat. Rihanna (produced by Jamie xx)
Hey you all, this is to get you in the spirit, perhaps??! Hey you, @nayarivera, @jennaushkowitx, @msleamichele, @totle9, this is to make you smile. To tomorrow, and no more sickness!
I went to a festival called Life Light over a Memorial Day weekend. It was a Christian festival, and while I listen to Christian music occasionally its not my genre of choice. There were however a few bands there that I really like. One such band is Family Force 5. This was the 2nd time I had seen them. The first was in a small sketchy venue and it was SWEET. The second night of Life Light Family Force 5 headlined the side stage. I regret not having a camera with me because it blew my mind. This photo was from the next day and they played the afternoon show at the main stage. I was determined to get some good pictures and this one was one of the best.
Switchfoot has always been one of my favorite bands since I was like 12. I’ve always imagined them playing in front of huge audiences at Christian festivals and in arenas, so when i heard they were going to be at a relatively small venue near me I jumped at the chance. My friend and I were both shocked at how few people that actually attended this show. It was a Thursday night show during the school year after all but that shouldn’t stop anyone from seeing a band they love. The small crowd turned out to be more energetic than crowds of thousands I’ve been in. It seemed like everyone knew every word. What was more exciting is they played some new stuff they had never played and Jon Foreman announced their next album would be called Vice Versus. My favorite moment was during “Bullet Soul.” Jon Foreman lept into the crowd and sang the second chorus while running through the sparse, yet dedicated numbers that were in attendance. Needless to say this too was an unforgettable concert experience.
I saw Anberlin for the third time in May of 2009. They were the second opening band and I remember their set consisted of every popular song they had produced thus far, except for one. They did a cover of a song I had never heard before. It was “True Faith” originally by New Order. I knew every single word to the other song, but I remember this cover the best. They had only played it live 2 or 3 times before according to the lead singer, Stephen, but it was obvious that this fresh new cover was a band favorite. Their intensity was completely captivating and the rest of the set went way too fast. I look forward to Anberlin touring near Nebraska again and hopefully producing some more covers.
